Abels & Annes Scholarship

Deadline: December 15th, 2016


Award Amount: $1000


Requirements: 

  1. Fill out a biographical information form.
  2. Write an essay on one or more of the following topics/issues:
    1. Relevant safety steps that bicyclists and motorists can take to avoid traffic accidents;
    2. The role that local, state, and federal government can play in improving bicycling in urban areas, including the reduction of collisions between bicyclists and motor vehicles; and
    3. Any personal experiences you have had with bicycle safety and/or collisions, the results of those experiences, and how your opinions on bicycle safety have been affected as a result.
The essay should not exceed 1,000 words. Please cite/credit any sources you have used to support your essay (such as news stories or government statistics).

A 500-word minimum essay explaining you or your family’s personal injury accident & how it changed your everyday outlook and possible future plans.
Are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States.
Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
 You or your family was involved in a personal injury accident.

ACEC New York Scholarship

Deadline: January 13, 2017

Award Amount: At least ten scholarships to undergraduate students intending to become consulting engineers.

  • Eight scholarships will provide a stipend of $25,000
  • Two scholarships of $5,000 each
Eligibility:
  • Only students having completed either their third year of study (4-year program) or fourth year of study program (5-year program) by June 2018 are eligible to receive the scholarship.
  • Applicant's major must be in a field of engineering/surveying: Mechanical Engineering; Structural Engineering; Civil Engineering; Environmental Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Engineering Technology or Surveying.

Wells Fargo Scholarship for People with Disabilities

Award Amount: $2,500 for full-time students, $1,250 for half-time students


Eligibility: 

  • Have an identified disability (defined as someone who has, or considers themselves to have, a long-term or recurring issue that impacts one or more major life activity)
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent
  • Be a high school senior or graduate who plans to enroll or who is already enrolled in full-time or half-time (at least 6 credits per term) undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2017-2018 academic year.
