Requirements:
- ESSAY LENGTH: Minimum 500 words; Maximum 800 words
- DATES OF THE CONTEST: March 15, 2018 to June 20, 2018. You can submit your essay anytime between these dates, and all essays must be submitted by 11:59 PM Eastern Time, June 20, 2018. Contest dates also relevant for determining age and student status eligibilities.
- AGE ELIGIBILITY: Age 16 to 26 at some point during the contest period (March 15, 2018 to June 20, 2018).
- (FOR THOSE UNDER 18): Permission from a Parent or Guardian if under 18 on the date you're submitting the essay.
- STUDENT STATUS: Full time student (High School; College; University; Vocational Training) at any point during the contest period (March 15, 2018 to June 20, 2018).
- AMERICAN CITIZEN: If selected for prize, proof of American Citizenship.
- ONE ESSAY PER PARTICIPANT
- NO EDITING AFTER SUBMISSION
- DFLA MEMBERSHIP AND POLITICAL PARTY AFFILIATION IMMATERIAL: There is no advantage or disadvantage to being a member of DFLA, or being affiliated with a political party.
